Malmö is the main city in the region of Skåne in the south
part of Sweden in the Öresund region close to Copenhagen and the
continent. The city district of Rosengård is one out of ten city
districts in Malmö. The city district administration has got the
overall responsibility to provide local services (education, individual
and family care, elder and handicap care, culture and leisure) within
its area.
ROSENGÅRD, with 20.764 inhabitants, was built with
the main goal to provide housing for the large refugees communities. 84%
of its residents has foreign roots, mainly coming from Lebanon, Iraq,
ex-Yugoslavia and Turkey. 33% of its population has less than 15 years
and as little as 11% are elderly people.
Only 30% of its inhabitants has a stable job.
