On Saturday 28th February at 4.30pm in the upper rooms of Palazzo Santa Margherita in corso Canalgrande, a free guided tour will be held of the exhibition “La variante e la regola. Opere su carta tra arte concreta, minimalismo e pittura analitica dalla collezione della Galleria civica di Modena”, led by Serena Goldoni, co-curator of the exhibition, together with Marco Pierini.

No pre-booking is necessary in order to take part. Just come to the bookshop a few minutes before the start of the visit.

This will be an opportunity to examine the new display of works from the gallery’s Drawing Collection, covering the concrete, geometric, minimalist and analytical research ranging from the mid-late 1940s right up to the 1970s.

The papers held in the Galleria civica di Modena archives will be accompanied by the graphic works of the Don Casimiro Bettelli Collection, granted on loan to the gallery by the modenese curia in 1999. The artists on show include: Getulio Alviani, Max Bill, Agostino Bonalumi, Enrico Castellani, Marco Gastini, Giorgio Griffa, Sol LeWitt, Francesco Lo Savio, Brice Marden, François Morellet, Mario Nigro, Claudio Olivieri, Mauro Reggiani, Turi Simeti, Giuseppe Uncini, Claudio Verna and Luigi Veronesi.

As part of a project set up in 2011 aimed at displaying the heritage of the Galleria civica di Modena on a regular basis, the exhibition will remain on display until 6th April 2015.

Again in Palazzo Santa Margherita, in the main hall, but at 3.30pm, it will be possible to take part in the guided tour of the exhibition “The cinema show. Fotografie dalla collezione della Galleria civica di Modena”, led by Daniele De Luigi, co-curator of the exhibition together with Marco Pierini.
