Largamente riconosciuto come il massimo autore del comicdom, Alan Moore (Northampton, 1953) scrive professionalmente fumetti dal 1979.
Dalla prima pubblicazione italiana di una sua opera (datata settembre 1988, allorche' su CORTO MALTESE comparvero - in appendice agli inserti di SUPERMAN - 8 pagine dal primo numero di WATCHMEN) ai giorni nostri, beneficiati soprattutto dalle belle edizioni MAGIC PRESS, molti editori italiani hanno saccheggiato la vasta produzione del grande scrittore britannico, con esiti piu' o meno felici.
Ne e' risultato un guazzabuglio di case editrici, volumi, riviste ed albi, nel quale il presente indice tenta di mettere un po' d'ordine mediante una rassegna alfabetica dei titoli tradotti in Italia.

	La Black Velvet ha pubblicato - nel novembre 2002 - il volume: Lance Parkin - ALAN MOORE curato da Omar Martini e smoky man; la prima parte del volume e' dedicata alla traduzione del libro omonimo di Lance Parkin, edito nel 2001 dalla Pocket Essentials, che ripercorre criticamente - con ricchezza di dati e riferimenti - la carriera di Moore; la seconda parte propone invece una selezione di testi, sceneggiature, una intervista inedita, molte fotografie; non manca inoltre una accurata bibliografia, con tanto di edizioni italiane. Sempre la Black Velvet ha pubblicato - nel novembre 2003 - pochi mesi dopo la gemella edizione inglese della ABIOGENESIS PRESS: ALAN MOORE: Ritratto Di Uno Straordinario Gentleman corposo volume monografico a cura di smoky man (Ultrazine), Gary Spencer Millidge (Abiogenesis Press) e Omar Martini; concepito come tributo per il cinquantesimo compleanno di Moore, si compone di una lunghissima serie di omaggi artistici, riflessioni critiche, testimonianze personali e quant'altro (in gran parte gia' ospitati sul sito di Ultrazine), realizzati da una larga schiera di autori ed incentrati sulla figura dello scrittore di Northampton; fra i tanti notevoli contributi: la cronaca redatta da Stephen Bissette della sua amicizia con Moore, il saggio di Marc Singer su THE BIRTH CAUL, la corrispondenza Dave Sim/Alan Moore apparsa sulla posta di CEREBUS. La Magic Press ha tradotto - nell'ottobre 2005 - il dettagliato saggio edito originalmente nel 2003 da MonkeyBrain Books "Heroes & Monsters: The Unofficial Companion To The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Vol. 1" di Jess Nevins nel bel volume EROI E MOSTRI - LA GUIDA NON UFFICIALE A LA LEGA DEGLI STRAORDINARI GENTLEMEN si tratta principalmente di una esaustiva raccolta di annotazioni e commenti ai tanti rimandi letterari della serie; e' inclusa - tra le altre cose - una intervista a Moore. La Tunue' ha pubblicato nel febbraio 2006 il mini volume V FOR MOORE come #6 della sua collana di saggistica Le Virgole; e' un sintetico sunto sulle opere di Moore con tanto di note critiche e biografiche ad opera di Gianluca Aicardi. Curato da smoky man e pubblicato da Lavieri nell'ottobre 2006, WATCHMEN - 20 ANNI DOPO e' una interessante raccolta di 12 saggi inediti realizzata per l'occasione da altrettanti critici, due dei quali stranieri; oltre ad altri contributi, e' presente anche uno spezzone dell'intervista di George Khoury a Moore inserita nel volume "The Extraordinary Works Of Alan Moore", pubblicato da TwoMorrows nel 2003.
