The Networks we belong to

The city networks are those of Local authorities interested in exchanging good practice experiences, developing new projects, and examining specific themes linked to the formation of urban policies. They carry out a key role in encouraging the comparison between the various urban policies of both European and non-European local authorities. The presence of the City of Modena in the city networks constitutes not only an extraordinary way of comparing the experiences of Modena with others and gaining recognition for the work done, but it also provides an important channel for the promotion of the city on an international level.

Furthermore, its participation in these networks has shown to be a precious tool in the search for partners in the presentation of European projects.

Progetto Europa offers assistance to departments of the Administration seeking participation in European and international networks on particular issues, coordinating communications and relationships with other partners, the attendance of international meetings, and promoting the presentation of common projects.

The City of Modena is currently part of the following networks:

Climate Alliance

Association of some 1200 Cities and local authorities, engaged in a partnership with Indigenous People in the Amazon, with the common aim of global climate protection.

Healthy Cities

Set up by the World Health Organization, this network aims at promoting policies and action for health and sustainable development at the local level and across the European Region, with an emphasis on the determinants of health, people in poverty and the needs of vulnerable groups

Energy-Cities

A network of European cities, aiming at strengthening the role of City Councils in the energy field and that of environmental protection, promoting the exchange of best practices and the development of common projects among the various partners in the field of energy saving and renewable energy sources.

Eurodesk

It is the structure of the EU programme “Youth in Action” providing information oh the European programmes aimed at young adults in the field of culture, training, mobility, rights and voluntary services, with the aim of making such programmes even more accessible

European Forum for Urban Security

A network present since 1996, it includes more than 250 cities and regional European administrations from different countries, with the aim of promoting new policies for urban safety.

European Youth Observatory

A European network of cities, founded in 1997 with the aim of exchanging best practice experiences and working on common projects in the field of youth policies.

EXARC

Founded in 1991, it is the European network of Open Air Museums and other facilities involved in experimental archaeology. It aims at establishing a high standard of both scientific research and public presentation. Among its main activities, the international exchange of knowledge, human resources and publications to improve the quality of work for all associated members.

Reves

A European network of cities and regions on social economies bringing together local authorities and protagonists in social economies in the elaboration of common policies aimed at favouring local sustainable development and fighting the phenomenon pf social marginalisation.
