PON INSIDE Structured and innovative interventions to fight against the serious homeless marginalisation in Emilia-Romagna

The City of Modena, as “Integration, health and social Policies”  Department, is partner of the INSIDE project, coordinated by the Emilia-Romagna and whose objective is to implement interventions, over a three-year period, for fighting against the serious adult marginalisation and against homeless condition.

The serious adult marginalisation, deeply bound to the economic crisis of last years, is characterised by a regular increase, also in the Modenese territory, of extremely poor people, of homeless and/or of people at risk of social exclusion or in serious conditions of economic and relationship poverty.

Therefore, project target is represented by persons with important physical and psychological problems, drug-addicted, homeless and mainly male.

The project, whose end is foreseen in December 2020, aims at:

- strengthening knowledge and data collection on the conditions of people risking extreme marginalisation and of homeless living in a specific territory;

- empowering the network of services for first social response intervention and for the inclusion of homeless and of people risking an extreme marginalisation;

- promoting services access (social, health, housing services, work training, etc.) of people risking an extreme marginalisation and of homeless;

- implementing innovative interventions (housing first, social street units, etc.);

- testing and/or strengthening supporting measures addressed to homeless in their process towards autonomy;

- strengthening the integrated system of territorial services and improving their ability to respond to the needs of persons risking extreme marginalisation and homeless;

- strengthening the social interventions addressed to persons risking extreme marginalisation and homeless, in order to meet their immediate needs, as the distribution of basic necessities (garments, products for personal hygiene, emergency kits, etc.);

- strengthening the distribution of other goods in the frame of other supporting projects aiming at people autonomy;

-  strengthening the services network for first social intervention and for support to homeless in their process towards autonomy.

The project foresees the implementation of a number of measures in the territory of Emilia-Romagna.

For what refers to Modena, several activities have been planned, among which:
