Priority axis 4 of Emilia-Romagna Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020: energetic requalification of the new Teatro delle Passioni

Priority axis 4 of Emilia-Romagna Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), is focused on the theme “Promotion of the low carbon economy in regions and in the production system”.

In particular, Priority axis 4 - Investment priority 4c - foresees:

-  restructuring measures of single buildings or public building complexes primarily indicated in the approved Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs), mainly referred to schools, public offices, sport buildings and public housing buildings, and the installation of intelligent remote control, adjustment, management, monitoring and optimization systems on energy consumptions (smart building) and polluting emissions (action 4.1.1);

-  installation of renewable energy production systems for self-consumption associated to energy efficiency interventions, giving priority to high-efficiency technologies, in public buildings, in order to achieve and overcome buildings’ energy performance standards already fixed by regional laws (action 4.1.2).

An ERDF Fund has been assigned to the City of Modena, with the purpose, from the energetic point of view, of upgrading a municipal building, named ex ENEL, that will be the new seat of Teatro delle Passioni and Fondazione Emilia-Romagna Teatro. That building is located in the ex AMCM, an abandoned industrial area since mid-1990s, placed close to the ancient city walls and already used as a seat of the Municipal Utility for the distribution of gas and electricity, as well as of public transports.

In particular, the City of Modena intervention foresees:

- the implementation of an energetic generation system, characterised by a high level of efficiency and sustainability, useful for the building and as integration of the foreseen facilities;

-  the significant improvement of building energetic performances compared to the values foreseen in the current project, in order to achieve higher results than those required by the energy efficiency legislation.
